The average area of cotton fields sown in Greece is 360,000 to 400,000 hectares each year, and the average annual lint yield ranges from 370,000 to 410,000 tons.
Greece is the only country in the world that produces highland medium-fiber cotton. It does not produce long-staple cotton, and the short length of short-staple cotton is 27.8mm.
Normally, 65% to 70% of the annual Greek cotton production has a color grade of 21-31 (i.e. the white color of the US cotton international cotton standard) and a length of 1-3/32” to 1-5/32 “, the Micronaire value is 3.6 to 4.5, and the strength is 28.5 to 30.5GPT.
The growth of Greek cotton relies on irrigation, and the grade is generally higher than that of the United States. The cotton is white, machine-picked, has no three-strand yarn, does not contain sugar, and has good spinnability
2. Spain

Cotton production is concentrated in Andalusia, which accounts for about 95% of the country’s cotton planting area.
Cotton grade standards are divided into two types: white cotton and colored cotton, which basically refer to the U.S. general cotton standards.
Spanish cotton is well sorted and white, but contains sugar, and the sugar content is uneven. China imports Spanish cotton, but the import volume is not large.
